Longmont Dance Theatre emphasizes ballet training within the Balanchine technique and developing expertise in performance as an art form. All students are encouraged to participate in Ballet Level Classes because ballet technique is the building block for all other dance forms. |
||||
| Other forms of dance are offered to develop performance training, to educate our students about other dance opportunities, and to broaden their experience and love for dance. Ultimately, students and their parents must make an educated decision as to which classes are taken. LDT's program serves the development of its students from their first encounter with music and movement to their emergence as knowledgeable dancers. | ||||
The curriculum is carefully designed to introduce correct technique and instruction appropriate for the student's age and physical development. While many students may go on to pursue professional careers within dance organizations, the focus of training is on the excellence and joy of dance at each level of achievement. |
