About Our Mission Guidelines Dress Code Important Dates

Sutdent Conduct

  • Show respect and encouragement for all fellow dancers in the school.
  • In class, refrain from talking, hanging or leaning on barres, touching mirrors or stereo equipment.
  • Students who arrive 15 min. or more late to class will not be admitted.
  • Do not sit down or leave the classroom without the instructor’s permission.
  • Please clean up any spills, paper and crumbs from all food and drink in the carpeted areas. Pour out drinks before disposing of cups, cans, etc.
  • No street shoes, gum, candy, food or drink inside class-rooms. Water bottles may be allowed at teacher discretion.
  • Keep personal belongings in order and keep the Dressing Room, Lobby, Studios, and Restrooms neat.
  • Mark all belongings, including shoes and dance bags, with the student’s name.
  • Leave valuable items at home to avoid any risk of loss or damage. LDT is not responsible.
  • Please use the restroom before and after class to avoid leaving class for bathroom breaks.

Schedule Changes/Withdrawls

All changes must be approved by the Artistic Director or the Instructor. Whenever a change in schedule occurs, a Class Change Form must be signed by the Instructor and the parent or person responsible for tuition payments. Completion of this form will allow us to accurately adjust the amount of tuition due; tuition will not be adjusted until this form is completed and signed. New students may always try their first class with no penalty. If a student chooses to withdraw after the second class, a penalty will be charged. Withdrawals in the first month of class will owe a $30 penalty (deducted from a refund of pre-paid tuition or paid as the difference between an installment payment minus any classes taken). After the first month, a fee equal to 15% of the tuition due for the remainder of the semester will be charged. In lieu of refunds, LDT prefers to credit the full balance to future classes for this student or any family member.

  • A minimum of four students must be registered per class or the class will be cancelled. Students will be asked to enroll in a class that will be offered in their level.
  • LDT’s class schedule may change due to enrollment.
  • Please see Tuition Rate Table for Tuition Rates.
  • Please see Ballet Program Tuition Rates for Special Ballet Program Rates!
  • The 2004-2005 Season is divided into a 17-Week Fall Semester, a 19-Week Spring Semester, and a 6-week Summer Session.
  • Tuition is based on the number of class hours taken per week during a semester. It is a fixed rate that does NOT change based on the number of weeks per month, holiday closures or absences.
  • The student is responsible for the full tuition of the semester in which registered. Students accepted into LDT after the start of a semester will be charged pro-rated tuition for that semester.
  • Tuition is not transferable, not refundable except in the case of class cancellation by LDT or student illness or injury with note by a doctor, and may not be carried over as credit to any future LDT session.

Make up classes

LClasses missed due to illness, injury or school/family commitments may be made up in a class of the same level or one level lower. Students are strongly encouraged to make up missed classes, as progress can be greatly affected by even one absence. Make-ups cannot be carried over into another semester or into a Summer Session. Tuition cannot be exchanged for missed classes, and no credits or refunds will be given for absences during a tuition period. Pro-rated tuition refunds will be given only if withdrawing from classes due to prolonged illness or severe injury, verified by a doctor’s certificate.

Recital Policy (New!)

All recital and performance forms must be completed and returned to the LDT office. If we do not receive a form, we will order costumes for the student and payment will be the responsibility of the parent/ guardian. We have added this requirement to prevent the disappointment of a child not having a costume to wear during a performance. If you do not plan to participate in a performance, make sure you return the appropriate form by the deadline to avoid being charged for costume(s).

Volunteer Opportunities

Like any arts organization, Longmont Dance Theatre depends on volunteers for critical support throughout the year. LDT encourages every family to participate in one (or more) volunteer opportunities. Please complete a Volunteer Form and return it to the LDT office.
